In the spring of 2024, Michigan Solar Solutions (MSS) partnered with Andersen Material Handling to implement a roof-mounted solar photovoltaic (PV) system as part of the company’s broader sustainability initiatives. This project also aimed to mitigate the impact of rising electricity costs, providing long-term financial and environmental benefits. Andersen Material Handling offers a rental fleet of electric forklifts, with 20 chargers running daily and now being charged by the power of the sun! Andersen Material Handling is offering electric fleets powered by solar power, showcasing their commitment to sustainability for the company and it’s customers!
In its first year, the solar array is projected to produce 100,488 kWh of clean energy, offsetting approximately 76.7 metric tons of carbon dioxide. This reduction is equivalent to 195,415 miles driven by an average gasoline-powered passenger vehicle.
This solar installation represents a significant step toward a more sustainable future and will continue to deliver reliable, clean energy for decades to come.
